In 1997, Alex Litsoudis and a few other people took steps to get a drama group
started.
They contacted Deakin University’s School of Performing Arts in search of a drama teacher and eventually made contact with drama education lecturer Jo Raphael. A meeting was set up between Alex Litsoudis, Jo Raphael and representatives of the disability service provider Leisure Link-up. The City of Greater Dandenong and Springvale Neighbourhood House were also represented at that meeting . With the support of these groups two highly successful pilot workshops were held in 1997 and Dramability was founded. |

In 2007, Dramability is celebrating its 10th year
of theatre making. The celebrations included taking 5 members to the
international Drama/Theatre and Education Association Conference (IDEA 2007) in Hong Kong
from 16th to 22nd of July 2007. The Fusion Delegates presented a 2 hour workshop
at the conference, attended a Special Interest Group on educating people with
learning difficulties, and saw a number of theatrical performances. |

Robbinson, Vicki Dighton, Jean-Maree Cadby. The group was accompanied by
Artistic Director Larry Boyd Founder Jo Raphael and 2 Deakin Students who work
with the group, Kate Beckwith and Nick Mawson. |
