The Fusion Theatre Board meets approximately 4 times a year via Zoom or at the Dandenong Community Arts Centre in Dandenong where finances, policy and artistic direction are discussed and decisions taken.
Board membership and expertise
As with all governing boards, the Fusion Theatre Board seeks to attract people with appropriate skills, experience and imagination who can commit to working proactively to develop the company purposes.
Support workers and volunteers
Fusion Theatre has a number of workshop supporters and volunteers. Workshop supporting artists are often those who are experienced or seek experience in working with people of different abilities and some experience or interest in the performing arts. Over the years we have had many tertiary students of performing arts gaining professional experience with the company through internships and workplace integrated learning programs. We also welcome guest artists who are willing to share their expertise with the company.
If you are interested in contributing to this dynamic community project and would like to apply as a board member or volunteer please contact Fusion Theatre.
Funding
Fusion Theatre has been financially supported for a number of years by the City of Greater Dandenong through its Community Grants Program. While this funding is never guaranteed, the local authority has been generous in its funding to Fusion Theatre which has assisted the company to grow its membership and ensure continuity of weekly workshops and artistic program.
Funding has occasionally been received from other bodies for one-off events such as the International Association of Drama Theatre in Education (IDEA) conference in Hong Kong in 2007.
As the company grows, it needs to expand its sources of funding to include a mix of public and private sources, including philanthropic donations.
Philanthropy
Fusion Theatre is a registered charity with the Australian Tax Office and all donations are tax deductible. Donors to the company receive other benefits for their gift other than the pleasure in knowing that they are helping support some of the most disadvantaged people in our community to engage in a quality arts project. These benefits include acknowledgement on our website and social media, in our publicity and programs, and complimentary seats at performances. If you would like to donate to Fusion Theatre please contact us.
Fusion theatre is a small community organisation with a big mission. Its growth depends on many things, not the least of which is financing. Any donations to the Fusion Theatre Project will help keep the company alive and continue the development of our inclusive arts program as we work towards a more inclusive society.
